Christchurch might be on the rim of the South Pacific, but it has a modern international airport and
is easily reached from anywhere on the planet. There are regular direct flights from Australia, the
United States and Europe on most of the major international airlines, including New Zealand's own
award-winning Air New Zealand.
Some flights connect through New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, a pleasant two hour flight away.
Some visitors prefer to get to Christchurch via Auckland just for this flight, with it's stunning
views of the central North Island volcanoes and, closer to Christchurch, the breath-taking Kaikoura
Ranges with the Southern Alps beyond.
